Tuition & Fees and Cost of Attendance
A student must have all fees paid by the Monday prior to the start of the semester. If a student does not pay the full amount due, the student will be dropped from all courses for which he/she registered on that particular registration date through the end of registration. After the last date of open registration, students will not be dropped from courses; however, a hold will be placed on their records.
Student Enrollment Fee*
All students are charged Enrollment Fees. Enrollment Fees are set by the state at $46.00 per unit with no cap on the fee. Unpaid fees may be cause for enrollment cancellation (see Enrollment Fee Deadline below). Enrollment Fees are subject to change through the legislative process.
Non-Resident Tuition*
Beginning in Summer 2026, all non-resident students will be charged a non-resident tuition fee of $343 per unit. This is in addition to the $46 per unit enrollment fee. Non-resident tuition will be assessed immediately and is capped at 15 units per semester. Students who attended a California high school for at least three years and who have a California high school diploma or equivalency may have their non-resident tuition waived. Please contact Admissions & Records at cc_ar@cerrocoso.edu for more information.
Student Representation Fee
Beginning Spring 2020, a student representation fee of $2.00 will be assessed of all students each semester. This fee is used for any purpose related to representing the views of students with governmental bodies (local, state, or federal). This fee can also be used to provide leadership training to students at Cerro Coso Community College.
Waiver of Student Representation Fee
Students may opt out of this fee when completing the update form.
Required Supplemental Materials*
In accordance with Section 59400-59408 of the California Code of Regulations Title V, students can obtain required supplemental course materials for courses designated in the class schedule from the instructor and purchase class supplies from any outside source of their choosing (in lieu of paying the designated material fee).
ASB Sticker Discount Program
The ASB (Associated Student Body) Sticker is Cerro Coso Community College's Coyote Card enhancement. Once purchased, the ASB Sticker is placed on your Coyote Card (student ID). The Coyote Card is FREE and can be retrieved from the Outreach Office. Your Coyote Card with ASB Sticker will give you access to various discounts in your Cerro Coso Community.
The ASB Sticker costs $8.00 per semester. The card entitles the holder to a variety of discounts within the college's communities. The funds raised by ASB Sticker sales are used to support SGCC clubs and activities on campus.
The ASB Sticker can be purchased at the Admissions & Records Office or by selecting and paying for it online via InsideCC. You can pick up the ASB Sticker at the Admissions & Records office at the Ridgecrest campus, or it can be mailed to the mailing address on file.

Cost of Attendance
Think of your Cost of Attendance (COA) as the starting point for figuring out how much financial help you might get for college.
It is not the bill you have to pay, but more like an estimate of all the costs for the school year, like tuition, fees, housing, and personal stuff. We use this to decide how much aid you can get, but we cannot give you more than what the COA says you will need. So, while some costs are set (like tuition), others can change based on how you live while you are in college.

COA Update Request Form
If you are a dependent student under the age of 24 and do not have qualifying circumstances to be considered independent, you may still be reported as living “at home” with your parent(s) on your financial aid application. However, if your current living situation is different and you are living independently, you may request a review of your Cost of Attendance (COA).
Please use the request form to notify our office of your updated housing status so we can evaluate and, if appropriate, adjust your COA to ensure it accurately reflects your current living expenses.
Once submitted, please allow 5–7 business days for your request to be reviewed and processed. You will be notified if any additional information is needed or once an update has been made.
