CALVIN FORSYTHE
CLASS OF 2018
"I began my Cerro Coso education in 2015 as a concurrent enrollee at the Mammoth Lakes campus. As a concurrent high school student I was able to complete basic education courses which put me on a fast track to earning my undergraduate degree. After graduation from high school I chose to stay in my hometown of Mammoth Lakes and finish my general education credits at Cerro Coso. There I was able to earn two degrees (AA in Liberal Arts/AS Social Behavioral Sciences).
After graduating, I transferred to San Diego State University (SDSU) as a political science major. I finished my undergraduate studies at SDSU and earned a bachelor's degree Magna Cum Laude in political science and certificate in Public Law. Over the course of my academic career at SDSU I developed a strong interest in and aptitude for constitutional law and the federal courts.
Since graduation from SDSU I have taken a year off but plan to pursue a Juris Doctor degree at a law school yet to be decided. I have dreams of clerking for a federal judge and ultimately maintaining a federal appellate practice, working with clients to pursue civil and criminal appeals in the United States Courts of Appeal.
I could not have gotten to this point today without the guidance and academic inspiration gained from my educational journey at Cerro Coso."
