Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarships are monies that you do not have to pay back and are based on criteria such as educational degree/majors, grade point average, or financial need. A variety of scholarships are available to our students. Applying for scholarships is easy. Remember, after every summer semester you will need to reapply.

The CCCC Foundation works with dozens of community donors to offer scholarships and awards to Cerro Coso students just like you with one easy application and more than 50 opportunities for cash awards.

More than $100,000 available in local awards. $30,000 in local STEM scholarships. Check it out! The scholarship application is available through June 15, 2019.

Apply Online

  • Use your student email to log in
  • Visit the CCCC Office of Financial Aid for one-on-one assistance with applications
  • Complete your application online, the link will be available October 1 – December 1
  • Each applicant will be screened for every scholarship.
  • Check the website often for updates and more scholarship opportunities

Fundraising events are held throughout the year to raise money for scholarships for Cerro Coso students. The amounts awarded are determined by the amounts donated throughout the year. Outside Scholarships Opportunities

There are a variety of outside scholarships that are available to students from various businesses and organizations. Please note, these sites are not part of Cerro Coso Community College; emails to these organizations will not go to Cerro Coso but rather the agency itself. Take and share our online quiz with friends to educate them on everything they need to know to vote in the upcoming elections. You'll be entered to win a $1,500 scholarship!

Sweet & Simple Scholarship

Big things come in small packages. And now, those simple gifts can really pay off in our Sweet and Simple Scholarship!

Easy Scholarship: Run a Jeans Drive to Benefit Youth in Homeless Shelters

You could win an easy $2,500 scholarship by running a denim drive in your school or community to help local young people experiencing homelessness. For teens in homeless shelters, jeans are one of the most requested items. Recruit your friends and classmates to donate gently-used pairs. You'll make a difference in someone's life and enter to win a $2,500 scholarship.

Easy Scholarship: Share a Mental (Health) Note with a Guy Friend

You could win an easy $2,500 scholarship by giving a guy in your life (a friend, teammate, fraternity brother, actual brother, or boyfriend) one of our Mental (Health) Notes as a reminder to spend some quality “him” time. Using the card, he’ll set aside time to do a quick mental health check-in, do some personalized self-care, and be connected to clutch mental health resources for especially tough times. At the same time, you’ll automatically enter to win a $2,500 scholarship. Win-win!

Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law & Policy Scholarship

Each year through the Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law & Policy Scholarship Program, ACWA awards one scholarship to a qualified graduate student.
Deadline: Sunday, March 1, 2020. Amount: $10,000.

Clair A. Hill Scholarship

Each year, ACWA awards the $5,000 Clair Hill Scholarship to a qualified student in a water resources-related field of study.
Deadline: Sunday, March 1, 2020. Amount: $5,000.

SEMA Memorial Scholarship

College is expensive! SEMA can help! Earn up to $5,000 for School. Every year SEMA helps students pay for their college tuition, and helps SEMA Members pay off their student loans. Students from all academic and technical disciplines that lead to careers in the automotive industry are welcome to apply!
Deadline: Thursday, March 5, 2020. Amount: $2,000 - $3,000 or $5,000.

Calcot-Seitz Foundation

The Calcot-Seitz Scholarship has been established for promising young students from Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas who plan to attend a college or are attending a college offering at least a FOUR-YEAR DEGREE in Agriculture.
Deadline: Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Amount: up to $3,000.

Superpower Scholarship

Have you ever wondered where you'd go if you could fly around downtown? Or maybe you daydream of secretly taking over the world - to each his own. For all of those hero lovers and villain enthusiasts, this super scholarship can give you the power to win free college money.
Deadline: Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Amount: $2,500.

Pine Cone Foundation Scholarship

The Pine Cone Foundation (PCF) supports LD students who wish to attend a California community college. We provide year-round support for 3 years that can total up to $5,500.
Deadline: Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Amount: $500 per semester.

ChooseWhat Scholarship

Submit a 750 to 1,500 word essay describing how your experience working for yourself as either a contractor or small business owner has impacted your view of education and your future.
Deadline: Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Amount: $1000.

All About Education Scholarship

It's often been said that "education is the key to success." What doors could your educational "key" open? It's not cheap to get a college degree, and many college-bound students see a shut door for education. We're here to help open it again.
Deadline: Thursday, April 30, 2020. Amount: $3,000.

B. Davis Scholarship

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.
Deadline: Friday, May 22, 2020. Amount: $1,000.

Cottage Inn Scholarship

Cottage Inn would like to recognize those that embrace education. Education is a fundamental need for the future growth of our nation. We are seeking applicants with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA in High School. The scholarship award will be made payable to the college or university of your choice to help pay for your education.
Deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020. Amount: $2,500, $1,000, and $500.

Fifth Month Scholarship

What does the number five mean to you? One is the loneliest number. Three is a crowd. Then there is five. What's so special about five? Well, for starters, this lucky number could help you win a $1,500 scholarship.

Ampronix College Scholarship Program

At Ampronix, we strive to give back to the community and that is why we are promoting our College Scholarship Program. We will be giving away a total of $2,250 to 3 chosen applicants who demonstrate passion for their field of study and great desire to give back to their community.
Deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020. Amount: $1000 or $750 or $500.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

Abbott & Fenner are committed to continuing our efforts at helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed.
Deadline: Friday, June 12, 2020. Amount: $1,000.

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
Deadline: Friday, June 19, 2020. Amount: $500.

Do-Over Scholarship

Mistakes - we've all made them. Too bad life doesn't always give you a mulligan. Or does it? What if you had the chance to "do-over" a moment in your life? What would it be? How would it affect you and your future?

Veteran Continuing Education Scholarship

GAINSWave® invites veterans who would like to return to school to apply for our Veteran Continuing Education Scholarship. The winner of this $2,500 scholarship will be a veteran who meets the eligibility criteria and most impresses the scholarship committee with demonstrated academic promise and a profound commitment to the ideals of service that they developed while in the military.

Flavor of the Month Scholarship

Winning scholarships can be sweet - especially with this special a la mode award for scholarship seekers who love ice cream.

Make Me Laugh Scholarship

Scholarships can be fun! Take a break from the boring application routine and make us laugh. That's right; we want a real LOL moment.

Shout It Out Scholarship

Have something on your mind? Let it out, or better yet SHOUT it out. Give your thoughts a voice and earn free college money at the same time.

AES Engineers Scholarship

AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2020. Amount: $500.

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship

Has "The Walking Dead" got you thinking what you might do if your streets were filled with flesh-eating zombies? Maybe you've envisioned your own post-apocalyptic world overrun with the living dead, forcing you to come up with a zombie survival plan - and quick!

Education Matters Scholarship

While continuing your education takes time, and money, there's a certain value that everyone is hoping to achieve. Our Education Matters Scholarship is giving you the chance to state why education matters. Why does education matter to you? What is the value you hope to receive from college? What would you do to convince the college cynics?
Deadline: Monday, November 30, 2020. Amount: $5,000.

Top Ten List Scholarship

Inspired by David Letterman and his top ten lists, we created the Top Ten List Scholarship. With so many awards based on grades and extracurricular activities, this unique scholarship gives you the chance to show us what's truly special and different about you. Get creative, be serious, or tug at our heart strings. Whatever you do, you only have ten reasons to convince us, so make each one count.
