The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars Program offers stipend-paid internship
opportunities for undergraduate and graduate-level university students pursuing STEM
degrees, as well as upper-level high school students. The selected interns gain valuable
hands-on experiences working with full-time AFRL scientists and engineers on cutting-edge
research and technology and are able to contribute to unique, research-based
projects.
Application Process
- Click “research Topics” slightly down from the top of the page. In Session search bar click “Other Locations Summer 2026” and “Edwards Air Force Base” in location search bar. The Edwards location is the AFRL located in Kern. Look through projects to find any of interest. You can select up to 3 projects per location. After looking up Edwards projects feel free to look up projects at other AFRL locations.
- When ready to apply click “apply” button on top navigation ribbon. From there click “scholars” in the drop down menu.
- Create an account and then fill out application forms.
