Eric Blackwell Memorial Scholarship

Eric Dean Blackwell

This scholarship was created in memory of Eric Dean Blackwell. Eric was an experienced and avid outdoorsman that spent a lot of time fly fishing, camping, and white water rafting in extremely remote places in Alaska. He spoke about not seeing any other people for weeks on end. He was a talented A&P mechanic, that cross walked his skills from airplanes to commercial space ships to trucks to motorcycles to home repair. He could fix anything. His goal was to become an engineer, but that was cut short on July 26, 2007, when he died in an explosion with two others during a cold flow test of Space Ship II in Mojave, CA. He was 38 years old, and the most caring and passionate person you could ever hope to meet. His family and friends were heartbroken that day, and miss him beyond words. His scholarship was developed by his wife, Kim Blackwell, for serious students that like to live and dream big.

The CCCC Foundation is committed to helping students succeed in college through its scholarship program.
