Dr. Corey Marvin Appointed as Interim President of Cerro Coso Community College

The Kern Community College District (KCCD) Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Corey Marvin as Interim President of Cerro Coso Community College, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Marvin has served the Cerro Coso community in a variety of leadership roles throughout his career and currently serves as Vice President of Instruction. His appointment reflects the Board's confidence in his proven leadership, commitment to student success, and deep understanding of the college's mission and the communities it serves.
As Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Marvin has provided strategic leadership for the college's instructional programs, working closely with faculty and staff to strengthen academic quality, expand educational opportunities, and support student achievement. Throughout his career at Cerro Coso, he has championed innovation, workforce development, and partnerships that enhance educational access across the college's expansive service area.

The Kern Community College District serves more than 30,000 students through Bakersfield College, Cerro Coso Community College, and Porterville College, spanning more than 24,800 square miles across portions of Kern, Tulare, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino counties.
