Ernest Crim III

Cerro Coso is thrilled to invite the community to a special event. Author Earnest Crim III will join us Monday, Feb. 23 to talk about his book “How Black History Can Save Your Life.”

Crim’s book draws from his personal experiences including a viral hate crime in 2016 that he used as a tool to spark a national conversation about discrimination. With this and other stories of Black excellence and perseverance, “How Black History can save your life” equips educators, parents and families with tools to combat racism within schools and in everyday life.

An Emmy-nominated modern-day griot (storyteller/oral historian), public educator, and cultural competency specialist, Crim uses overlooked historical narratives as a catalyst for healing, justice, and transformation. As a former public school history teacher turned speaker, author, producer, and CEO of Crim’s Cultural Consulting, Ernest empowers schools, companies, and communities to bridge cultural divides through truth-telling, empathy, and antiracist education.

He is the author of two other bestsellers.

This event is free to the public.
