‘Balance is Bullsh*t:’ Cerro Coso to Host Book Signing with Elisha Beach March 18

On March 18, Cerro Coso will welcome Elisha Beach, a real-life expert in the field. Beach will be on hand speaking and signing her book “Balance is Bullsh*t.”
As the title suggests Beach’s work offers a no-nonsense take on parenting, drawing on her skills as a Certified Strategic Planner as well as her experience as a birth mom of three, adoptive mom of one and stepmom of four step “adults.” (That’s 8 kids total, in case you’re not keeping track.)
Elisha’s book got its start three months after she gave birth to her youngest, when she had a “mommy meltdown” in the middle of a passport office. Being escorted out of the room sobbing into a cloth diaper convinced her it was time to rethink the way she was caring for herself.
Elisha set out on a journey to discover what self-care she needed to stay on a more even keel. She spent over a year focusing on her self-care practice and learning how to prioritize her own needs, ultimately drawing on all her skills to create a step-by-step process to help other moms build a way to practice self-care realistically.
With the publication of her first book, Elisha has taken on a mission to share more of her truth about motherhood and self care so others feel less alone.
“Balance is Bullsh*t” went on to garner praise on Amazon, including five-star reviews and comments from readers such as “A book for every Mom” and “The Mom book you didn’t know you needed” as well as breaking the top 500 in the category for Books on Parenting Boys.
Beach also shares her mom truth on social media and hosted the podcasts More Than Just Mom and MomCare Mondays. She has published several articles for the Huffington Post, started her own blog, The Mom Forum, and became a staff writer for the popular parenting blog Scary Mommy.
In honor of Women’s History Month, Cerro Coso Community College welcomes Elisha Beach to speak and sign her book “Balance is Bullsh*t.”
