Take Your Creativity to New Heights this Fall at Cerro Coso.
 

Tap into your creative side and take an art class at Cerro Coso Community College this fall. Interested in art history, meeting new people, rekindling a lost-passion, or just because you want to, Cerro Coso is offering a variety of Art classes at the Ridgecrest Campus.

Don Rosenberg will instruct ART C105 (72460) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:40 to 10:05 a.m. This course provides an overview of western art and architecture from prehistory though the Middle Ages.

ART C115 (72466) Three-Dimensional Design will meet with Professor Loren Sandvik on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:10 to 8:20 p.m. An introduction to the concepts, applications, and historical references related to three-dimensional design and spatial composition, this course includes the study of the elements and organizing principles of design as they apply to three-dimensional space and form.

Lisa Darty will instruct ART C121 (72470) Drawing I on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:10 to 8:20 p.m. A studio arts course introducing the principles, elements, and practices of drawing, employing a range of subject matter and drawing media. A strong focus is placed on perceptually based drawing, observational skills, technical abilities, and creative responses to materials, and subject matter.

ART C131 and C231 Painting I and II, will meet with Tanner McGuire on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4:40 p.m. This beginning level studio arts course introduces the materials, methods, and techniques of painting as a means of creating two dimensional art images.

ART C141 and C240 Ceramics I and II will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 to 4:40 p.m. with instructor Gaysha Smith. Students in this course will be exposed to ceramic materials, concepts, and processes including basic design techniques, firing and ceramic terminology.
