College Offering Human Services Classes This Fall

HMSV C101 Introduction to Human Services - Make a difference!
 

Are you interested in a career helping people cope with their problems? A degree or certificate in Human Services from Cerro Coso Community College might be right for you. Earning a degree or certificate in Human Services can lead to a job promotion or a new position in criminal justice, social services, education, or management. From critical thinking and leadership skills to core competencies in communication and technology, Human Services classes enable students to apply a versatile set of skills in a broad range of career fields.

Human Services professionals may work with children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly providing social services and support for people as case managers, social service assistants, counselors, childcare workers, or probation officers.

Cerro Coso is offering three Human Services courses on campus this fall.

HMSV C101 Introduction to Human Services -  Melissa Bowen will instruct this 3-unit course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 10:30am. The course will introduce students to the human services professions and their role in helping people to cope with the problem of living. Topics also address competence, professionalism, legal, and ethical issues in human services.

The college is also offering HMSV C104 Field Work Human Services with Bowen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:35pm to 4:40pm and HMSV C116 Case Management will meet from 2:00pm to 3:25pm on campus this fall.
