The High Tech Center is a computer training center designed to train individuals with disabilities to use assistive technologies. It was established to facilitate computer access for the disabled students of Cerro Coso Community College, with goal of empowering disabled students to achieve academic success and prepare themselves for educational and employment opportunities in the future. All disabled students who are accepted into DSPS program are eligible to use the High Tech Center.
The High Tech Center:
Monday through Thursday: 8:00am to 5:30pm
Friday: 8:00am to 12:00pm
Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSPS) students have access to all High Tech Center equipment and computers. Non DSPS students may access equipment and computers when available and with permission from LAC staff.
All students using the High Tech Center services need to sign the daily log. You may reserve time to work on High Tech Center equipment, but if you are more than ½ hour late for your reservation you will forfeit the rest of your reserved time.
Staff on duty monitor the use of all equipment in the High Tech Center.
Please report any malfunction of equipment to the Alternative Media Specialist or the LAC lab assistant on duty.
The High Tech Center staff are here to assist you and answer any questions you may have about how to access and use the assistive technology.
Use of the High Tech Center is for work related to your college classes. It is not for accessing social media, playing games, or other non-college related activities.
The High Tech Center lab is open from 8:00 am to 5:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:00am to 12:00pm on Friday.
