Walecke ESCC Student of the Year

The Eastern Sierra College Center of Cerro Coso Community College presented Michael Walecke with the ESCC student of the year award for the Bishop and Mammoth Lakes campuses at the 32nd Annual Spring Awards Luncheon in Ridgecrest. Michael will be transferring to the University of Reno in the fall semester after having completed his lower division coursework at Cerro Coso.

An outstanding student, Michael received strong recommendations from faculty and staff to be recognized as the ESCC student of the year. He serves as a tutor in the Learning Resource Center at the Bishop Campus and has been an outstanding asset for many students that need that extra assistance in coursework that an experienced tutor can provide.

“Michael’s outstanding attributes of dedication, compassion, a strong drive to succeed, and a willingness to be of service to his fellow students are admirable traits that will carry him far in his future endeavors,” said ESCC Director Deanna Campbell.

Congratulations Michael. We wish you great success!
