The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is scheduled for October 27th 2017 to October 31st 2017. This trip is open to continuing students who are interested in attending the student track portion of the conference and have at least a 2.5 GPA, attended orientation, completed an assessment (or were placed via AP or other college courses), and have met with a counselor to create a long term education plan. This trip is free for students who meet the minimum requirements. Cerro Coso Community College will cover the cost of transportation, lodging and meals. Due to the restrictions of Equity funding, priority consideration goes to our gap populations. These populations includes: Latino, Black, Male, and low income students. After review of the applications, students will be selected to interview during the week of October 9th through October 13th. On October 16th, ten students will be selected to attend the trip. We will be leaving the Cerro Coso Ridgecrest/IWV Campus at approximately 7:30am on October 27th.You will be responsible for finding transportation to the campus.
All students who attend will be required to write a one-page experience paper and give a short presentation about the trip. Remember, space is extremely limited!
