The Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Program prepares graduates for entry-level positions as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, laboratory service centers and physician’s offices. Our LFS/DHS approved CPTI program includes 48 hours of lecture and 40 hours of practical experience at nearby externship sites. No medical experience is required to enroll in the course. Upon completion of the program, students will have met all of the State of California’s requirements to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT1). Passing a National Certification examination is also required and will be given on campus after the Didactic Training and prior to completing Externship.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must provide your own Scrub Uniform (any color)
  • Must have a High School Diploma, HiSET or Equivalency (or in process)
  • No history of felonies (misdemeanors may cause denial of your License application–see CA Dept. of Public Health for details)
