Eligibility Requirements



To apply for the TRIO Program the student must meet one of the following requirements:

  • First Generation (neither parent has obtained a 4-year degree) or
  • Low Income (according to Federal guidelines) and/or
  • Have a verified learning or physical disability

In addition, the student must also meet all of the following criteria:

  • US Citizen or Legal Resident (must qualify for Federal Aid)
  • Have a FAFSA on file
  • Either attending CCCC on a part or full-time basis and working towards a degree or planning to transfer to a 4-year college.
  • Have an academic need

To apply for the program, students can either pick up an application at the TRIO office; or  download the application from the website (see Application process). Within approximately a week after the application has been received and processed, a letter will be mailed to the student’s home address informing them if they have been admitted to the program.
