Scholarships
Scholarship Opportunities at Cerro Coso College
Scholarships are monies that you do not have to pay back and are based on criteria such as educational degree/majors, grade point average, or financial need. A variety of scholarships are available to our students. Applying for scholarships is easy. Remember, after every summer semester you will need to reapply.
Foundation Scholarships
The CCCC Foundation is committed to helping students succeed in college through its scholarship program. Fundraising events are held throughout the year to raise money for scholarships for Cerro Coso students.
Apply for all foundation scholarships at once by filling out the Scholarship Application and following the application instructions below. Each applicant will be screened for every scholarship. The amounts awarded are determined by the amounts donated throughout the year. The following Foundation Scholarships are available:

- Print out and complete the Cerro Coso Community College Scholarship Application.
- Submit two letters of recommendation from Counselors, Teachers or Employers.
- Write a statement of your educational goals.
- High school seniors or first semester students, please enclose a high school transcript along with your application.

Community Scholarships
- Jill Kinmont Indian Education Fund Scholarship
- The Jill Kinmont Indian Education Fund is awarding up to ten $1000 scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year to graduating Native American high school seniors, students who with to attend or are attending vocational schools or college, and students attending graduate school.
Persons applying for these awards must be of Paiute-Shoshone ancestry and reside in Inyo or Mono County. Applicants must include verification of tribal affiliation with their application. Transcripts must be submitted directly from the school's office where the applicant is presently attending or has attended. Do not delay requesting transcripts. - Jacobs Technology Naval Systems Group Jack Hledic Memorial Scholarship
- For students who embody Naval Systems Group's commitment to education, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in the Ridgecrest, CA area. Mr. Hledik was the lead systems engineer for the Sparrow and Sea Sparrow weapons systems during their development at China Lake. Students applying for the scholarship must meet the following qualifications:
- Be pursuing a degree in the field of engineering, mathematics, physics, or a science field related to an engineering discipline,
- Have been named or enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university for the school year following the application deadline,
- Have achieved one or more of the following academic standards: a minimum academic weighted 3.25 GPA, or composite score of 25 (of 36) on the ACT, or a score of 1150 (of 1600) on the SAT,
- Be a citizen of the United States of America,
- Have submitted an application; an essay paper answering a chosen question from a pool of four; an activities resume that defines school and community activities, achievements, and leadership skills; a letter of referencel a school transcript, and the student's SAT/ACT scores. These items should be submitted via email to rich.christensen@nsg.jacobs.com no later than Monday, May 10, 2013. Letters must be postmarked by May 8, 2013 5:00 PM Pacific Time or to the Jacobs Technology Naval Systems Group, 1550 North Norma, Ridgecrest, CA 93555, attention Rich Christensen. There are a variety of outside scholarships that are available to students from various businesses and organizations. Amount of Award - $1,500. - Berkeley Achievement Award Program: Each year, highly qualified and community-minded students with a proven track record of academic success, gain admission to Berkeley but cannot afford to attend. The Achievement Award Program (TAAP) offers these students substantial scholarship funding and support services to provide the opportunity of a Berkeley education.

We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. For the 2013 academic year, Domo will provide two scholarships of $2,500 each for college students who are studying business management and who show an interest in analytics.

Applicants must be any person 17 years of age or older who demonstrates interest in physical, massage, recreational, or occupational therapy or psychology professions and is interested in attending a related program, undergraduate, graduate, or accredited training program at an accredited institution of learning within the United States.

Amount of Award - $1,000. - SmileReef Pediatric Dentist of Tomorrow Scholarship: Dr. Jaren Jensen, Pediatric Dentist of SmileReef, knows firsthand the financial difficulties of getting through college, dentistry school, and specialization school. Through his education, scholarship opportunities like this helped Dr. Jensen to be the kids' dentist he is today.

- Varsity Tutors Monthly Scholarship Description: Varsity Tutors offers a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest to students who write the best essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage will be able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes will be reviewed by Varsity Tutors and one winner will be chosen who will receive a $1,000 college scholarship.
- SR Education Group: SR Education Group offers a set of 4 rotating scholarships at various times throughout the year: Community College Scholarship, Single Parent Scholarship, Women's Scholarship, and Military Scholarship.

- Marathi Vishwa: Each year Marathi Vishwa awards two scholarships in remembrance of Dr. Anandibai Gopal Joshi. Anandibai was the first female doctor whose life illustrated the need for social reform, the role of education and women's rights in India.

Deadline - April 30, 2013. Amount of Award - varies. - A.W. Bodine - Sunkist Growers Scholarship: The Bodine-Sunkist scholarship honors the memory of Sunkist board vice chairman Arthur W. Bodine. Eligibility requirements include financial need and a family or personal involvement in California or Arizona agriculture. It is open to students entering any phase of their undergraduate college career, at any school, and in any field of study.
