Wind Technician

  • FPL Energy is looking for individuals that are interested in working with cutting edge technology.  Troubleshoot complex problems and enjoy the rewards of a job well done.

General Description:

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators including lubrication, gear-box tear-downs.  Perform electronic and mechanical troubleshooting activities as required.  Attend regular safety meetings and follow appropriate company safety and environmental policies.  Operate, maintain, and mange utility truck and tool inventory.  Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 100 feet from the ground surface.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent, technical associates degree preferred or combination of education and experience
  • Drivers license
  • Safe work habits and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Hand tool, mechanical, and electronics knowledge
