To provide an opportunity for Special Services students to develop
leadership skills through the presentation of various campus and community
activities in cooperation with other organizations.
The underlying theme for the club's activities is to educate the
college and community about ethnic-cultural diversity and about the needs
and
contribution of disabled and economically disadvantaged people.
About the Club
The Special Services Club, which meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th
Tuesdays, is your student-led forum to develop leadership opportunities in
both college and community life. The leadership processes that your Club
offers are the same as those that will make you successful in your chosen
field, they are enjoyable and purposeful. Club members educate the college
and community about ethnic diversity and about the needs and contributions
of people with disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged. The Club
provides opportunity for students to create fun and interesting activities
on and off campus. The Club sponsors Curt Sherwood Fundraisers to assist
students in financial crisis. Last year, the Club participated in various
Cerro Coso College sponsored activities. The Special Services Club is one of
the most active and rewarding clubs on campus.
