Closed Captioning

image of closed captioningJust as a caption in a book is the text under a picture, captions on video are text located somewhere on the picture. Since there is no way for a television to put text outside the area of the picture tube, captions do end up covering a portion of the picture (there are non-broadcast applications where this can be done).

E-text

The E-text is a digital format, like MS Word format.

Large Print

Tactile Graphics

Simplified graphical images that use raised lines and textures to convey information.

Web Accessibility

Web accessibility is the process of making Internet and Intranet sites compatible with assistive technologies used by people with disabilities. For example, people who are blind, deaf, severely dyslexic, cannot use a mouse or keyboard, or have other special needs often use assistive technologies to work with computers.
