Cerro Coso to Offer Zumba® Class
April 3, 2012
Working out can be healthy, rewarding, and fun in Cerro Coso Community College's Zumba® class. The College Contract and Community Education Department has scheduled a Zumba® class to meet on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m. in Room 407 of the College Gym with instructor Lisa Baker beginning April 7, 2012.
Burn calories using simple Latin and International Dance moves to increase the fun factor. Routines feature fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body while burning fat. The music, created with specific beats and temp changes, transitions the workout seamlessly from toning to strengthening to cardio thus targeting every major muscle group in the body.Zumba® is the largest dance fitness program in the world, based on a Latin-inspired dance fitness program. Zumba® involves dance and aerobic elements. Its choreography incorporates hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly dance moves. Squats and lunges are also included.
The minimum age is 16 to take Zumba® at the College and each class is limited to 40 students. Cost is $35 per person for eight sessions. All classes will be held in Room 407 of the Cerro Coso Community College Gymnasium.
