Introduction to Business Topic of Cerro Coso KRV Class this Spring

Increase your awareness of the overall environment and function of business as well as observe its contributions to society in a 3-unit Introduction to Business course being offered by Cerro Coso Community College this spring. Jerald Smith will instruct the course on Mondays from 6 to 9:10 p.m. via interactive Television at the KRV campus.
BSAD C100 is a survey course introducing the nature and scope of business. Fields of business that will be explored include management, operations, ethics, human resources, marketing, information systems, and accounting. The course is recommended as the first course to take for all business majors. It provides students with a fundamental working knowledge of the varied aspects of business and prepares them for future studies in more specialized topics within the field.
Business skills provide a framework of office procedures and abilities that can be adapt to any company's operation. New opportunities arise every day for those with specific business knowledge and skills in our rapidly changing economy. A career in business is more varied than most people realize. It can involve the obvious functions such as management and marketing, but there's an increasing need for business majors to apply their skills in government, international commerce, health care, arts, and non-profit organizations. Business principles can serve as the backbone for economic, political and social systems at all levels.
Chart a new course at Cerro Coso Community College in the Kern River Valley this spring. BSAD C100 will help develop leadership skills and provide specialized training to approach obstacles with proven methods and innovative solutions.
