Free Tax Service Being Offered at Mammoth Lakes Library

January 20, 2009

The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation, partnered with Coso Community College, will open a site in the Mammoth Lakes Library for free tax help, preparation and electronic filing for low to middle income tax payers.  The Mammoth Lakes Library location will be open February 3, 2009 through April 14, 2009, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.by appointment and walk-ins are also welcome.  Volunteers are available to assist with special attention to those 60 and older.  A Spanish speaking volunteer will also be available.  Counselors are trained and certified through the IRS/AARP training program each year, and are qualified to answer most all of the tax issues you face.  This program has been in the Eastern Sierra for over 25 years.  For questions or an appointment, call (760) 934-5674.  

If interested, taxpayers should bring their prior year’s tax return information, all 2008 information necessary to complete tax returns, social security cards or tax identification numbers and bank routing information for direct deposit of refunds.
