Bishop Campus

Excel Course Offered for Spring

January 22, 2007

Cerro Coso Community College’s Bishop campus is offering both Beginning and Intermediate Microsoft Excel electronic spreadsheet courses for the spring 2007 semester. Spring classes will convene on January 22. Based on experience level students can choose the appropriate section. The courses meet on Thursdays at the Bishop campus from 11:30-1:30 beginning January 25 and ending May 17 and are taught by Matt Hightower, Professor of Business and Information Technology. The classes are offered in lecture/lab format in a hands-on computer lab environment. Students will have the opportunity to learn new material and work on lab assignments during the class period.

The beginning Excel course covers:
Spreadsheet design, creation, revision, formatting and printing. The student will create basic sales or expense reports, family budgets and basic business related spreadsheet documents using Microsoft Excel features and functions including formulas, charting, built-in functions, etc.

The intermediate Excel course covers:
How to analyze data through list management, using autofilter, sorting and pivot table features. Students will learn how to work with multiple worksheets and workbooks, and create a shared workbook, resolve conflicts, and track changes. Students will also plan and prepare an application using Excel’s data validation feature and button creation using macros.

A great way to increase your productivity at work!

Spring classes convene January 22. Late Registration will be conducted January 22-26. Students may register on a first-come, first served basis, no appointment is necessary. Just stop by the Bishop Campus or the Mammoth Lakes Campus to register.
