CCCC Community Band Spring 2006 Concert

Ridgecrest, CA – April 3, 2006

Dr. Alex Shlanta – Clarinet Soloist

The Cerro Coso College Community Band will perform their spring concert on Thursday, April 20. The spring concert will be featuring Dr. Alex Shlanta on clarinet, in a performance of Carl Maria Von Weber’s “Concertino” for clarinet and band accompaniment.

The spring concert will be held in the College Lecture Center at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will also feature Peter Forney on trumpet in a performance of “La Virgen de la Macarena.”

An original animation, created by the Animation Academy, will be shown while the band performs, “Kinesis” by Michael Sweeney.

Other musical selections will include: “Go West!” – a medley of famous themes from Western movies, “Benny Goodman: The King of Swing” – featuring such famous tunes as, “Let’s Dance,” Moonglow,” and “Sing, Sing, Sing,” and “THE INCREDIBLES” – music from Walt Disney’s hit animation, “THE INCREDIBLES.”

Doors open at 7:00 PM and admission is FREE!
