CCCC ESCC Announces Late Start/Short Term Classes

Bishop/Mammoth Lakes, CA – February 6, 2006

Cerro Coso Community College is currently registering students for newly added late start and accelerated Spring classes.

EMTC C205 Emergency Medical Technician 1-A Refresher is a 1.5 unit class that will update the student allowing them to apply or re-apply, for County certification as an Emergency Medical Technician 1. This class taught by Martha Reynolds will be held on March 11, 12, 25 and 26; students need to attend all sessions to receive the Certificate of Completion. This class will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mammoth Lakes Campus beginning March 11.

ENGL C092 Grammar/Punctuation Refresher is a course designed for students at all levels. Topics include recognizing sentence patterns, avoiding run-ons and fragments, knowing when to use the comma, correctly employing the minor punctuation marks of semicolon, colon, dash, and others. This Monday and Wednesday class will begin February 13 and ends May 10. Christine Abbott will teach the 2 unit course at the Bishop Campus.

Other late start/short term classes are being added with a variety of starting and ending dates from late January through mid-May. Additional late start/short term classes are offered online. Interested students may register any time for on campus and online classes at the CC Online homepage; http://cconline.cerrocoso.edu. Bishop Campus hours of operation are Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The Mammoth Lakes Campus is open on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For additional information on the late start/short term classes the Eastern Sierra College Center at Bishop can be reached by calling 872-1565 and the Mammoth Lakes Campus can be reached by calling 934-2875.
