Cerro Coso Offers Orchestra As A Community Education Class

Kern River Valley, CA – July 19, 2005

Cerro Coso Community College, Kern River Valley (KRV) Campus is offering Orchestra as a Community Education class this fall. The Orchestra will be instructed by Bruce Brady.

The Cerro Coso KRV Orchestra performs a variety of music styles such as classical and semi-classical, movie and stage musicals, popular music, music from around the world, and big band/jazz arrangements. Students participate in two performances per semester at the Kernville Elementary School. All students should be able to read music and be able to play all major scales. Woodwind or brass musicians should have at least one year playing experience or instruction. String musicians should have at least three years of playing experience or instruction or be capable to play in third position. Percussionists and new students, please contact the instructor.

The Fall Semester begins on Monday, August 29, 2005 and the Orchestra will meet on Monday evenings from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Room G of the KRV Campus in Lake Isabella. This class begins on August 29th and goes through December 5, 2005. There is a $30.00 class fee. Come join us in making beautiful music together.

Students may register and pay the Community Education fee at the College office located at 5520 Lake Isabella Blvd. during regular business hours or with the instructor on the first day of class.
