Cerro Coso Community College to Offer Shakespeare Festival Class

Ridgecrest, CA – June 16, 2003

Cerro Coso Community College is offering a one-unit study, travel course to The Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah this summer. Students travel to the Shakespeare Festival where they will attend six plays (3 Shakespearean, 3 Contemporary), discussions, lectures, tours and other events that deepen their appreciation of drama and its performances.

Play dates are August 4 through the 5, with an initial class meeting at Cerro Coso’s Indian Wells Valley campus on Tuesday, June 24, 2003. This year’s plays are Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing, and Richard III. Contemporary plays are the Musical 1776, the comedy Born Yesterday, and the comedy The Servant of Two Masters.

To register for the class, go online to www.cerrocoso.edu. Registration for this one-unit class featuring six plays, a backstage tour and souvenir program continues through June 23. Cost is $220.00; tickets are non-refundable after June 23. Students arrange their own transportation and lodging in Cedar City, Utah.
