SK Campus - Edwards AFB Late Start Classes Offered by Cerro Coso Community CollegeEdwards AFB, CA – February 26, 2003Cerro Coso Community College at Edwards AFB is offering four accelerated classes starting March 17, 2003. Art C106History of Western Art II – Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-8:14 p.m. – a three-unit course taught by Shirley Harrington to discuss the historical developments of painting, sculpture and architecture from Giotto (1300) to the present. Biology C141The Human Environment – Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15-8:14 p.m. – This three-unit course taught by Larry Allen will explore the interactions of humans with the lives and activities of the organisms and the environment. Local, regional and global ecology is considered from a scientific perspective. Critical evaluation of environmental issues and problems is a focus of this course. Economics C101Introduction to Economics – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-8:25 p.m. – a three-unit course taught by Jerry Witte to review the macro and micro concepts as they apply to current economic problems. For non-economics and non-business majors. Survey of economics for many majors especially those requiring one semester of economics. Math C040Pre-Algebra – Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:14-9:30 p.m. – this four-unit
course taught by Mike Reed covers basic arithmetic, introductory concepts in
algebra, and problem solving techniques. Specific topics include addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division of signed numbers, and applications
of these skills.
