CCCC and Fire Mountain Foundation Present: Brad Spence

Ridgecrest, California – November 20, 2002

The Cerro Coso Art Department is pleased to announce the next speaker in The Visiting Artists Series. Brad Spence is a Los Angeles based Artist/Writer/Educator and will speak Friday, November 22 at 6:00 PM in the Cerro Coso Lecture Center.

Spence holds two M.F.A.’s from The California Institute of the Arts (Critical Studies and Art). In 1999 Spence published the monograph “Bas Jan Ader” which is widely regarded as the definitive collection of this pivotal conceptual artists work. In March 2002 Spence was the subject of a feature article in “Art Forum” which traced the development of his artwork since graduate school. In addition to a pedigree of national and international shows, Spence is represented by Shoshana Wayne Gallery in Santa Monica. He currently teaches Art at the University of Southern California.

This lecture series is made possible through a special activities grant through the Fire Mountain Foundation. Both the lecture and the Gallery Show are free of charge and open to the public.
