Cerro Coso Community College and Fire Mountain Foundation Present: Blair Sands Hansen and Chris Acuna-Hansen

Ridgecrest, California – October 9, 2002

The Cerro Coso Art Department is pleased to announce the second speaker in our 2000-2003 Visiting Artist Program. Blair Sands Hansen and Chris Acuna-Hansen, artists and gallery owners from the Los Angeles area, will present a lecture titled Artist, Curators, and Public Art on October 11 at 6:00 PM in the lecture center on the Cerro Coso campus.

Additionally, Blair Sands Hansen and Chris Acuna-Hansen have curated a show of currently showing Los Angeles artists for out Art Gallery titled “Whatchya Lookin’ At?,” which opens October 11 and will run through December 13, 2002.

“Whatchya Lookin’ At?” is a small survey of some of the work currently being looked at and shown by gallery owners Chris Acuna-Hansen and Blair Sands Hansen. The artworks, although varied in medium and style, share a common conceptual and aesthetic approach indicative of the work being produced by contemporary Southern California Artists.

This lecture series is made possible through a special project grant from the Fire Mountain Foundation. Both the lecture and the Gallery Show are free of charge and open to the public.
