The Mammoth campus Learning Resource Center (LRC) is located inside the Mammoth Lakes campus, in room 225.

Library

While Mammoth students have access to the Mammoth Lakes library collection and resources, the Cerro Coso LRC Main page is a resource portal that contains links to a variety of encyclopedia and magazine research databases, web resources, and our automated book catalog, all of which can be accessed remotely (including from home computers) after inputting student ID #.

Students are encouraged to use the "24/7 Chat" link on the LRC Main page for research assistance. This resource instantly connects users to a skilled research specialist any time of the day or night.

To schedule a Library Orientation/Research Instruction presentation, faculty should contact ESCC Librarian, Nancy Williard at (760) 934-1624 or email nwilliard@cerrocoso.edu. She can visit classes on either campus and teach students the Information Competency skills crucial to academic success and lifelong learning.

Learning Assistance Services

ESCC LRC Faculty Coordinator, Lauren Patridge, can assist with tutoring needs in all subjects. In addition, she gives several presentations each semester offering writing-centered instruction. Workshops are free to all Cerro Coso students.

Faculty are encouraged to bring classes to workshops and, if desired, they may contact Lauren to schedule in-class presentations. She can be reached at lauren.patridge@cerrocoso.edu, or also at (760) 924-1621.

The Bishop campus LRC offers the following services to accommodate students in need of targeted learning assistance:

  • Drop-In Tutoring from LRC faculty, including Writing and Math
  • Appointments to be matched with a student tutor who can provide tutoring on campus during times the LRC is closed
  • Exam Proctoring: for Cerro Coso exams (for free) and for other college/university exams (for a fee of $25)
  • Assessment Testing
  • Online Course Facilitation
  • GED Preparation: for students working on their GED
  • Career/Resume Assistance
