Regarding the sponsor’s list, Sheryl has contacted businesses in the Weldon and South Lake areas as well as Subway in Lake Isabella. James Station Grocery Store wants to donate but not do the sponsor’s list. They want to donate products for any events. Let them know far in advance.

First Baptist Church Harvest Festival on Halloween Day, October 31st. Let’s have a booth there. By doing so, we would let people know about us. They would have people running through there; in other words, we would be bringing people from the college there. It’s a win win situation. “Hook it up and just do it.” We could do hot cider and cinamon sticks, or coffee and mochas for the adults.

It was suggested that we bring flavoured syrups, but flavored creamers may be a better alternative because James Station may donate them to the ASB

Wednesday “Meet the Candidates Meeting.” Gary mentioned it was important to get as many people as possible to attend the meeting.

Margie has resigned as secretary. A resignation letter is forthcoming, but she has verbalized it to the advisor, the administrator, and the president of the ASB. A letter will be written and submitted when Margie is physically able to write it.

Vanessa Johnson is doing the newsletter and would probably be a good choice.

Movement to nominate Vanessa Johnson as secreatery upon her acceptance of the position. Movement was seconded by Sheryl, and the the vote was unanimous in favor of appointing Johnson. Don will contact Johnson; her appointment is dependent upon her acceptance.

We have a new cork board. What will we do with it?

Board would be good for announcements and activities. Tim mentioned we should mark it as the ASB board.

The fundraiser was discussed, and Don brought in a sheet of administrative steps sheet to go over. The sheet was reviewed.

Overall committee of motivated people needs to be formed. The core of this goup could be the ASB executive committee.

A group of people should be assigned to go into each class and talk about this fundraiser and motivate students and teachers to participate. Sheryl was assigned to oversee this committee.

This is an ASB fundraiser, so the ASB needs to decide how to allocate the money. It was suggested that some should go to the foundation, and some should go to the ASB club.

This fundraiser should be even bigger than last year because people know how easy it is to sell the boxes of ice cream.

Ice Cream Fundraiser Timeline:

Present to Wednesday Oct 1: Committees will be formed and active. Committees should then do all of the work.

Monday Oct 20-Tuesday Oct 28: The info committee needs to get into the classrooms and disseminate information, motivate people, and get them to commit to selling a set number of boxes. This committee should get commitments in writing.

Wednesday Oct 29: Board meeting to tally up all of the commitments. Let Jean Pack know if it’s a go.

Thursday, Oct 30 and Monday,  Nov 3: Get the selling sheets to the students who have committed.

Thursday Oct 30 to Monday Nov 10. These will be the official selling dates where students collect checks. All checks should be made out to Kern Valley Associated Students Club (KVASC). Jean Pack recommended ending these dates on a Monday in order to give students the weekend to sell.

Tuesday, Nov 11: Tally the dollar amount of checks for the actual amount of boxes sold. Call Jean Pack to order the boxes.

Wed Nov 12: Jean Pack will place the order.

Wed Nov 19: Arrival of Ice Cream. Buyers can pick up ice cream in the parking lot of the Kern Valley Plaza.
