The Cerro Coso Community College Alumni Association Board of Directors proudly announces the Spring 2007 “Student of the Semester” is Robert Villicana from the IWV Campus in Ridgecrest. Robert was nominated by Instructor, Janis Jamison. The Alumni Board of Directors and invited guests will be honoring Robert at an awards luncheon on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in recognition of his dedication and many academic achievements. The Alumni Association would like to congratulate Robert Villicana and thank the Cerro Coso faculty, at all sites, for their nominations.

The Special Services Program is pleased to announce "Believe and Achieve," our 2007 Special Services Awards Ceremony, Friday, May 4, 2007, 10:30-12:30pm, to be held in the Cerro Coso Student Center. During this presentation The Special Services Program will honor Special Services students receiving Diplomas, GEDs and Certificates of Completion. The program will also include an alumni speaker, and presentations for Student, Faculty, and Classified of the year. A brunch will be served for guests and honorees before the ceremony. In 1998, a college student was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming because he was gay.
