RUSH WEEK Feb 6-9

Auditions - The King Stag
The King Stag Theatre Production – Theatre 121. The production class will produce Carlo Gozzi’s fairytale The King Stag. The play takes place in the magical kingdom of Serendippo where the lonely King Deramo searches for a bride. Many parts are available. No experience is necessary! Enroll now. Auditions will be held the second week of class. Other Theatre classes offered are: Technical Theatre – Theatre 131, Improvisation – Theatre 118, Directing – Theatre 230, Acting – Theatre 111, Theatre 112, Theatre 211 and Theatre 212. Trying to Get Into an Online Class?
If you are interested in taking an online class but it is closed to registration, then call the CC Online office and speak to Lori Olivera. Cerro Coso Web/Email/Information Servers Planned Outage January 5th
The Kern Community College District and Cerro Coso Community College Web, Email and Student Information (Coyote Connection) servers will be down for maintenance starting Thursday, January 5th at 9pm and end Friday, January 6th at 7am. High School Preview Day: April 7th
Cerro Coso Community College will host the fifth annual Preview Day on Friday, April 7 from 10:30 to 2 p.m. This event is an opportunity for junior and senior high school students to visit Cerro Coso and see first hand the opportunities available to them.  [more]

Improv Troupe to perform at the Lone Pine Forum Theater
The Cerro Coso Improv Troupe has been invited to perform a comedic improv show at The Forum Theater in Lone Pine this Saturday, April 22nd. There is no cover charge for the show and all are welcome. An informational orientation for Phi Theta Kappa is scheduled in LRC 604 next Friday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m. 132 eligible students, from all campuses and online, have been formally invited to attend the orientation, but anyone interested is welcome to attend. Dr. Dyer to leave CCCC
College President, Dr. Sharon Dyer has accepted a new role in the Kern Community College District and will be leaving Cerro Coso Community College as its President. Cerro Coso's students, staff, and faculty offered thanks to Dr. Dyer for her service at last week's graduation ceremony. [more at the Daily Independent]

The College will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th for the Independence Day holiday. The college will be open Monday, July 3rd and reopen the 5th.

Coyote Connection (BanWeb) System Downtime
The Coyote Connection student information system and all related services will be unavailable starting 4pm , Friday, July 7th and will be back online by 6am, Monday July 10th. This scheduled outage is for system upgrades.

Book Nook Closed for Inventory
The bookstore will be closed for year end inventory from June 28 – July 4, 2006. It will reopen for business on Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Change in Library Hours
Due to staff travel, it is necessary to make the following changes in the Library hours:
Mon. July 31: Regular Hours
Tue.-Thu. Aug. 1-3: 10am–4pm (Closed for Dinner 4pm–5pm), 5pm–9pm
The Library will then be closed from Aug. 7-27. It will open again for the new semester on Monday, August 28th. The Book Sale will continue in the Fall semester.

The Federal Student Aid agency has announced an Academic Competitiveness Grant will provide up to $750 for the first year of undergraduate study and up to $1,300 for the second year of undergraduate study to full-time students... Learn more at the Student Aid website.

CCCC to Administer GED Exams
Cerro Coso Community College will be administering the entire series of tests for the General Education Development (GED) examination on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 12 and 13, 2006. [more]

Cerro Coso IWV Phone System Repaired
The Phone system at the IWV (Ridgecrest) campus has been repaired and we are now able to send and receive calls. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

ATTENTION-Cerro Coso IWV Phone System Down-ATTENTION
The Phone system at the IWV (Ridgecrest) campus is down and we are not able to receive calls at the current time. We are looking into this problem and hope to have it fixed quickly. You can email the webmaster@cerrocoso.edu if you need assistance and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate staff or faculty member.

UPDATE: Due to additional technical problems discovered it appears that our phone system will likely be down  through the close of business today, and as a reminder the college is closed Friday. We expect and hope that our phone system will be back up by Monday and look forward to receiving your calls again at that time.

Library & Computer Lab Closed until August 28th
The Library and Computer Lab will be closed from Aug. 7-27. They will open again for the new semester on Monday, August 28th. The Library Book Sale will continue in the Fall semester.
