Cerro Coso is continuing registration for a number of late start classes. Students may continue to register until the first day of any late start class. Registration may take place on campus or online through the Coyote Connection on the Cerro Coso home page. Auditions - The King Stag
The King Stag Theatre Production – Theatre 121. The production class will produce Carlo Gozzi’s fairytale The King Stag. The play takes place in the magical kingdom of Serendippo where the lonely King Deramo searches for a bride. Many parts are available. No experience is necessary! Enroll now. Auditions will be held the second week of class. Other Theatre classes offered are: Technical Theatre – Theatre 131, Improvisation – Theatre 118, Directing – Theatre 230, Acting – Theatre 111, Theatre 112, Theatre 211 and Theatre 212. Mask & Puppet Master Matthew Graham Smith Coming to Cerro Coso College
The Cerro Coso Community College Theatre Department is hosting a free workshop in mask making and performance on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. The workshop will feature renowned physical theatre artist Matthew Graham Smith. Participants will learn about the art of mask making and will practice techniques for performing with masks. [more]

Cerro Coso Community College will host the fifth annual Preview Day on Friday, April 7 from 10:30 to 2 p.m. This event is an opportunity for junior and senior high school students to visit Cerro Coso and see first hand the opportunities available to them.  [more]

3.15 St. Patrick's Day Feast: March 16th
The Special Services Club is offering an Irish Feast on Thursday, March 16 from 1:15pm to 5:00pm, in the Student Center. Corned beef and cabbage dinner will be sold for $4.00 per plate (drink included). ASCC will also be selling root beer, orange and green floats in the Student Center starting around 11:30am. Take an Irish trek to the Student Center Thursday, and enjoy the good luck offered you by the Cerro Coso students!

Cerro Coso Community College students will observe Spring Recess from March 20 through March 24, 2006. During this week, the College will be closed on Thursday and Friday, March 23rd and 24th. Also, Cerro Coso Community College will be closed on Friday, April 14, 2006 as a holiday.

4.24 Spring Awards Luncheon: Purchase Your Tickets Today
The ASCC would like to invite all members of the college community to the 22nd annual Spring Awards Luncheon Thursday May 4, 2006 in the Student Center (cafeteria). Lunch starts at 11:30 with the awards presentation beginning at 12:15 pm. The menu includes tossed green salad, garlic toast, lemon basil chicken mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, iced tea, coffee, water. Cost per ticket: $15.00. Tickets may be purchased at the switchboard or in the Student Activities Office Room 248 by Friday April 28th.

The Cerro Coso Improv Troupe has been invited to perform a comedic improv show at The Forum Theater in Lone Pine this Saturday, April 22nd. There is no cover charge for the show and all are welcome. The Cerro Coso Community College Kern River Valley Campus in Lake Isabella is offering a new and exciting class this summer in Digital Cinematography. This eight-week, 4-unit summer course starts June 12th and is a wonderful opportunity to become a part of a “Wild West Country” historical documentary film project with Chuck Barbee. [more]

Change in Library Hours
Due to staff travel, it is necessary to make the following changes in the Library hours:
Mon. July 31: Regular Hours
Tue.-Thu. Aug. 1-3: 10am–4pm (Closed for Dinner 4pm–5pm), 5pm–9pm
The Library will then be closed from Aug. 7-27. It will open again for the new semester on Monday, August 28th. The Book Sale will continue in the Fall semester.

Cerro Coso IWV Phone System Repaired
The Phone system at the IWV (Ridgecrest) campus has been repaired and we are now able to send and receive calls. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Phone system at the IWV (Ridgecrest) campus is down and we are not able to receive calls at the current time. We are looking into this problem and hope to have it fixed quickly. You can email the webmaster@cerrocoso.edu if you need assistance and your message will be forwarded to the appropriate staff or faculty member.

UPDATE: Due to additional technical problems discovered it appears that our phone system will likely be down  through the close of business today, and as a reminder the college is closed Friday. We expect and hope that our phone system will be back up by Monday and look forward to receiving your calls again at that time.

College Closed October 9th
October 9th is an instructional holiday and there are no classes scheduled. All Cerro Coso campuses will be closed to the public that day for a Staff Development day. All college campuses will resume normal activities on October 10th.
