Art Gallery Opening of "Drawings" & Artist Visit
Artist David Pann will be visiting on September 24th at 5:30 pm in the art gallery. His show, "Drawings" runs from Sept. 15 to Oct 17. Drama Workshop Series

IWV Campus Closing Today at 3pm !!!ATTENTION!!!
Due to problems with our energy management systems the IWV Campus will be closing at 3pm today, Friday, September 19th.

Associated Students of Cerro Coso Elections
Nominations have been submitted for ASCC officers and will be presented to the associated students at the ASCC meeting today, September 16, from 12:30-1:30pm in room 236. Voting will take place on September 30 and October 1. For more information, contact the Students Activities office in Rm 248, or call 384-6353.

College Placement Exams
The next scheduled College Placement Exam will be on October 14, 2003 from 9:00 - 11:30am in Room 229. This is the second half of the exam, 3 part multiple choice. The first half must be done on line and consists of the orientation and essay. For more information, contact Paula Caudill at The Student Learning Counseling Counter, or call 384-6219

Relay For Life
You are invited to join Cerro Coso College and the American Cancer Society in the fight against Cancer. To participate in this 24 hour event, held on October 4th – October 5th, come to the Switchboard with $5 and select an open 30 minute time slot to walk around the Burroughs High School track. Slots are filling up fast so hurry. For more information contact Switchboard at 384-6100 located in the main lobby 2nd floor.

Goblin Ghoul Float’s
On Wednesday, October 29, 2003 the Classified Senate will be selling “Goblin Ghoul Float’s” for only $1.00 in the Student Center starting at 11:45 a.m.

Curt Sherwood Fundraisers
On Thursday, October 30th there will be a “Halloween” Curt Sherwood Fundraiser Bake Sale in the Student Center from 10:00 a.m. until the goodies are gone. If you have any questions, or would like to donate goodies and/or your time to the bake sale, contact Jill King in the Special Services Office in Room 219 or call her at 384-6250. There is also a jar of candy located in the Book Nook and for just $.25¢ (one quarter) you can take a guess at how many pieces of candy are in the jar. The two (2) closest guesses, without going over, will each win a lovely basket filled with an assortment of goodies. Guesses can be purchased from now until 5:00 p.m. on October 30th. The winners will be contacted later that day.

CARE Activity
The Special Services / CARE Program will be holding a “Fall Family Fun Day” on Friday, October 24th from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Sculpture Garden for CARE students and their children (a sign-up sheet in located in Room 219). Some of the activities include child I.D. cards, face painting, a cupcake walk, pumpkin rolling race, cookie decorating, and other games and prizes. Read more...

This Saturday, the Cerro Coso Drama Department is hosting Guest Speakers from TVI Actors Studio as part of the "Becoming a Working Actor" Workshop Series. The presentation will be held Saturday (10/18) at 12 noon in the Lecture Center and will focus on marketing and employment strategies for actors.  Read more...

The Greatest Chili Cook Off Ever
ARTS Action presents a chili cook off, October 15 at 2:00 pm. Have some of the greatest chili ever in a hand-made ceramic bowl for $5-$10ea and the chili is free. You can also purchase a plastic bowl for $3. Cornbread and refreshments will be provided by ARTS Action along with other baked goods. First, Second, and Third prizes will be awarded.

The 23rd Annual College and University Night will be held in the Student Center on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Current college and high school students, along with members of the community, are invited to meet representatives from selected University of California and California State University campuses, as well as private independent colleges and universities, military services, and Cerro Coso programs. CCCC to Host Open House at Bishop Campus
Please come and visit the new Bishop campus for Cerro Coso Community College located at 4090 West Line Street at Ed Powers Road. The college staff is inviting all the communities of the Owens Valley to the new campus for an Open House Sunday, December 7, 2003 from 3 to 6 p.m. The classrooms, laboratories, and study areas will be open for public viewing.  Read more...

KCCD Student Information System (Coyote Connection) Scheduled Downtime
Over the weekend of November 22nd and 23rd, starting at 10pm, Friday, November 21st, the Coyote Connection and all related services will be offline to allow for a required software upgrade. All services will be available again by 7am, Monday, November 24th.

CCCC to Administer Placement Exams (South Kern)
The Cerro Coso Community College spring term begins January 21, 2004. In preparation Cerro Coso will be giving placement exams for the spring term. The placement exam is free and measures writing, reading, and math skills. It is suggested that prospective students with no prior college level English and Math take this exam. Read more...

Special Services Open House
The Special Services Program (Room 219) will be holding an Open House on November 5, from 10:00am -2:00pm at the IWV campus.
