College Library to Hold Book Sale

Replenish your reading material at the Cerro Coso Community College Library Book Sale starting Monday, October 19. The Library hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.  The Book Sale will continue until most of the books have been sold. Paperback books for 25¢ and hardcover books for 50¢.  Magazines are 10 for only $1.00.  The Book Sale will continue until October 30th.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 26
Goodie handouts. Look out for the Vampires also known as ASCC Officers roaming the campus with Treats and Get Bit! Pumpkin Pie Contest 12:30-1:30 PM  Student Center. Bake your pie and bring it to the Student Center to be judged!  Two Categories: Traditional and other pumpkin desserts.

Scary movie screening (the movie will be showing all day long) MB 250, (lecture center) $1.00 or bring your favorite can food and get in free!

Blood Drive, BBQ, and Curt Sherwood Bake Sale. LRC Lawn from 11 to 3. Please support the canned food drive for C.A.R.E. student’s Thanksgiving baskets.

9th Annual Preview Day at Cerro Coso Community College (Nov 6)
Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 10:30 a.m. –1:30 in the College Gymnasium.  Juniors and seniors from local high schools have been invited to preview the campus. Faculty and staff will be on hand during the “Information Fair” to pass out information such as Vocational Programs, Degrees and Transfer Options. Students will be given a tour of the college and served lunch.  Interested junior and senior high school students should sign up with their high school counselor.  Contact the Counseling Office for information.

Gamers Wanted! Game Tournament (Nov 14)
Cerro Coso Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Game Tournament-Nov. 14.  Get a team together (4 people per team 30 teams total), or if you’re a solo sharpshooter, come and join a team – all gamers are welcome and no one will be left out! The Tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. with setup starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Learning Resource Center, Computer Lab.  For questions contact the Cerro Coso Game Committee Chairman at:  760-793-4537 or cerrocosogamemaster@gmail.com.
