RET C263 Content Review
Prerequisite
RET C100
and
The student needs to know the basics of energy capture for renewable energy (RE) technologies and the functional aspects of the sub-system as covered in RET C101. This knowledge is the foundation needed for in-depth learning about the wind turbine pneumatic and hydraulic sub-system that is covered in this class.
Prerequisite
RET C161
and
The student needs the knowledge from RET C161 regarding interoperability of wind turbine generator (WTG) sub-systems and proper set-up procedures for its mechanical sub-systems. This knowledge is the foundation for in-depth study on the functionality of the various pneumatic and hydraulic components that form key components of the wind turbine's mechanical sub-system.
Prerequisite
INSF C070
The student needs the knowledge from INSF C070 or its equivalent in safe operating principles (SOPs) around energized circuits. He/she also needs to know proper selection and usage of appropriate test and personal protective equipment to prevent potential industrial workplace hazards leading to personal injury or equipment damage. This knowledge is fundamental to maintaining personnel and equipment safety as the student might encounter potential hazards in the lab, such as electric shock, arc-flash, or hazardous materials, etc.
