    This is a sport course designed to prepare the athlete for baseball at the competitive level. Skills will be developed through high intensity practice sessions on a daily basis. Offensive and defensive theory will be discussed and put in to practice in game speed situations.

  22. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES—Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to

    1. Discuss the required rules and regulations consistent with competitive baseball.
    2. Identify and perform the appropriate offensive and defensive strategy as an individual and as part of a team for continually changing competitive baseball situations.
    3. Analyze his/her individual baseball strategy, skills and weaknesses and through active participation in the class improving uopn his/her deficiencies.
    4. Employ fitness strategies to improve cardio-vascular fitness to the level required to compete at the competive level of baseball.
    5. Differentiate and demonstrate the skills used in competive baseball. Specfically hitting, thowing, catching, fielding, and baserunning.
