CHDV C203 Content Review
Prerequisite
CHDV C100
and
Students who are taking the capstone, practicum course, CHDV C203, need a strong basis in theory before working with a group of young children. The purpose of the practicum course is to provide students a safe, structured place to try techniques that may be new to them, techniques that are considered best practices in the field of Child Development. In order for students to try new techniques, they must first be exposed to the current theories that are guiding this field. The first 3 courses required for the Permit Matrix and our degree are designed to give an overview of the field and to provide a base for practical application. The observations, analysis, and practicing of skills in the theoretical and activity courses provides a first step towards working with young children in a classroom setting.
