The Child Development Program at Cerro Coso Community College offers various types of training & job opportunities for students and faculty:
- Classes offered online - study and train at times convenient for YOU!
- Courses designed to follow the CHDV Permit Matrix.
- At the Child Development Center/Lab School, student workers receive hands on experience with children while concurrently taking child development courses.
- Participation in a new method of supporting students from the California Early Childhood Mentor Program (CECMP): Virtual Mentoring!

Child Development Center/Lab School
The center offers a developmentally appropriate program funded through the Department of Education. State Preschool and funded care is available to families who qualify. Students of Cerro Coso are given fist priority.

One of the main focuses of the Child Development Program is to work with childcare professionals in the community to identify and meet their needs. We also have a variety of resources available to assist both faculty and students to meet their various child development needs. Through our various programs and projects we encompass the wide range of the child development field and provide a variety of services and training to members of our service area.
