processes, delivery systems, and business operations;
Inspire our students to strive for
excellence in achieving their aspirations, our employees to deliver
quality instruction and learning support, and our communities by

At Cerro Coso Community College, we value:
Student learning and student success
in all areas of endeavor;
Creativity and the implementation of
best practices in a rapidly changing world;
Accountability to our students for
their learning experience, our communities for good stewardship of
public funds, and to each other through the participatory governance
process;
Diversity in our students, our
communities, our environment and our programs and services;
Our Communities and the partnerships
and relationships we build with them; and
Our Faculty and Staff who turn the
wheels of learning.
Service Philosophy
Cerro Coso Community College is committed to providing equal opportunity for
access to quality community college education for all eligible individuals
within its service area irrespective of geographic location. In keeping with
this philosophy, the College has established the following goals:
Maximize use of community resources and expand instructional
facilities to meet the varying needs, interests,
and capacities of individuals geographically distant from the campus.
Maintain a high level of quality for instructional programs offered at
all sites by thorough adherence to the same
admissions, grading, and graduation standards; by insuring that all
faculty members possess the same or equivalent qualifications; and by
facilitating regular and frequent interaction among all instructors and
staff of all campuses and/or centers.
Assess the educational needs of college clientele and facilitate the
design and delivery of educational programs
specifically tailored to meet those needs.
Continually strive to upgrade and improve the support services and
physical facilities at all campuses such as
learning resource centers, student counseling, financial aid information
and assistance, and other student services normally offered on the
traditional college campus, or provide such services electronically.
General Education Philosophy
The general education program at Cerro Coso Community College reflects the
College’s conviction that it is our charge to provide our students the tools
necessary to live successfully in a changing world. A general education
program in humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and
language and rationality encourage the development of critical thinking, an
appreciation for the rich diversity of human cultures and traditions, and an
understanding of political, social, physical, and ecological environments
sufficient to offer the flexibility needed for our students to prosper in a
global society.
